Exquisite Sunday Brunch
Followed in the evening by dinner with Captain Guilio Ressa, Master of M/S Sirena,
one of the more personable ship captains we have met.
Monday, we approached the Equator. The first time we sailed over it was March 24, 2011,
with our best friends Jerry and Doree Hickman, aboard Oceania's Insignia.
While Suzy was ceremoniously transformed from a Pollywog to a Shellback on that first cruise,
Cap has avoided the Neptune ceremony both times, preferring to be the official photographer.
The official fish to be kissed
The parade of 'dignitaries'
Ceremony: Kissing the fish
and pouring the ice water over the head
After all those festivities, we had Dr. Roger Cartwright, guest speaker, and Lady Jane Cartwright,
to our stateroom for cocktails and dinner. Dr. Roger had a Amazonian howler monkey, who promptly made great friends with HPG.
And HPG, in his own way, celebrates his first equator crossing.
